Rooted in community

Food Oasis is a regional food systems service provider working to address critical gaps in storage, distribution, market access, and technical assistance.

We partner with BIPOC growers, producers, aggregators, institutions, and community organizations across King County and the greater Puget Sound region to strengthen local food infrastructure and create more equitable pathways from farm to market.

Cultivating Connection

Before harvest season, Food Oasis brought farmers, community partners, and local buyers together to build relationships before the food started moving.

By March, those conversations were becoming real infrastructure. Solomon Dubie, Mario Sanchez, and Gavin Amos joined growers and partners including Nurturing Roots and the City of Seattle’s Office of Sustainability & Environment to talk about what was being planted, what communities needed, and how local food could move more effectively through the region.

That approach still guides Food Oasis today: build trust first, then build the storage, distribution, marketplace, and technical assistance needed to support a stronger regional food system.
